Singapore, 16 November 2009 – Sphere Exhibits, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), will be launching its inaugural Christmas fair at Suntec Convention Halls 401 – 402 from 20 – 22 November 2009. Admission is free and the show opens from 11am to 9pm daily.

The Gifts & Electronics Fest @ Santa’s Village will house more than 120 booths, offering a wide assortment of festive goodies from "live" Christmas trees, eye-catching decorations, novel gifts, to delectable foods and wines.
Decked with real trees and dazzling decorations, the two convention halls will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland. The stage area will be converted into Santa’s Living Room, where visitors will be entertained with performances and appearances by Christmas characters like Santa Claus, The Magical Elf, Alex The Magician and even a Toy Marching Band.
Children may also come face to face with Santa Claus, have their pictures taken with him and pick a present from his sack! At 7pm daily, Santa Claus will fire his goodies cannon, showering visitors with coupons that are redeemable for novelty Christmas treats.
For the first time in Singapore, fresh potted Christmas trees that will last beyond the festive season will be available for sale at the fair. There will also be a display of artistically-trimmed Christmas trees of rare varieties and visitors can learn to make their own Christmas wreaths and table decorations from the experts.
At the three-day fair, visitors will also be treated to a preview of the Hollywood Dinos, where life-size dinosaur exhibits will move, growl, blink their eyes, walk and even dance! Tickets for the Hollywood Dinos event in December will be on sale at the fair.
Visitors will also be inspired by the showcase of original creations by talented artists and designers, who will be on site to customise purchased merchandise. Great bundle deals and purchase with purchase promotions await shoppers at the electronics bazaar section.
On Friday and Saturday, early-bird shoppers will be able to buy limited quantities of items such as collectible plush toys, coffee makers, watches, Christmas trees and decorations, digital cameras, laptops and other electronic gadgets at special prices.
Sphere Exhibits’ executive director, Mr Chua Wee Phong, said, “It has been a challenging year and we hope to bring a smile and spread some festive cheer to everyone through the comprehensive offerings that we have at our Christmas fair. Be it a present for a loved one or for themselves, there is something for everyone here."
Besides making it easy for shoppers to do their Christmas shopping, Sphere Exhibits is offering a convenient way for visitors to do their part for charity. Collaborating with The Boys’ Brigade in Singapore, the three-day event will also serve as a drop-off point for those who wish to donate basic food and household items to The Boys’ Brigade Sharity Gift Box project. It will also house a Sharity Wish Tree for visitors to fulfil the wishes of the needy children and elderly.
