Singapore, 3 November 2009 – Sphere Exhibits, a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), is making its foray into trade events with the launch of two trade fairs on 27 – 29 April 2011.
BuildTech Asia 2011 and InterDecAsia 2011are expected to occupy an estimated 25,000 square metres of indoor and outdoor space at the Singapore Expo. The two international shows will be co-located within the same premises to create a mega integrated fair for visitors from the building and construction, as well as interior décor and retrofitting industries.
Mr Chua Wee Phong, Executive Director of Sphere Exhibits, said, “Singapore's strategic location makes it an ideal destination for business events. With a strong regional demand for MICE services, Sphere sees potential and has decided to expand into trade events. Sphere has established a reputation of organising innovative consumer fairs. While this is our first foray into trade events, we are confident that our unique concepts will not only draw local audiences but also international participants."
BuildTechAsia 2011will be divided into three sectors:
InterDecAsia 2011 will incorporate Interior&Decor Asia 2011, featuring interior décor and retrofitting exhibitors, and Asia Lighting Fair 2011, which will display the latest in lighting technologies.
Visitors can also look forward to attending seminars and conferences conducted by leading professionals, to share and discuss the latest issues facing the construction industry.
Since Sphere Exhibits started marketing BuildTechAsia 2011 and InterDecAsia 2011a couple of months ago, it has received positive responses from the trade embassies based in Singapore, related supporting organisations and media partners. Some overseas government agencies are also considering setting up country pavilions.
Sphere Exhibits are also in talks with government agencies such as Singapore Tourism Board and International Enterprise Singapore to offer financial incentives to Singapore-based companies which are interested in participating in BuildTech Asia 2011 and InterDecAsia 2011.
