Singapore, 25 September 2009 – Singapore’s leading bilingual news and entertainment portal, omy.sg turns two today and the joy is doubled with its wins at the 8th Asia Media Awards 2009.
omy.sg picked up a Gold and Silver respectively in two new categories added this year – Best in Cross Media Award (Cross Media Editorial Coverage) and Best in Cross Media Award (Cross Media Advertising).
The former is for a specially created microsite covering the 2007 Beijing Olympics (http://olympics.omy.sg/) while the latter is for a campaign with home-grown food brand, Bee Cheng Hiang in a photo contest to celebrate its 75th anniversary (http://project.omy.sg/2008/bch/).
In the Best in Online Media Award (Newspaper Website) category, omy.sg was awarded a Gold in recognition of its effort in complementing and supporting the various Chinese newspapers under Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH).
Organised by WAN-IFRA, the Awards aims to promote the highest publishing standards in Asia and Middle-East. A total of 472 entries were received this year.
