Singapore, 17 December 2008 – SPH Magazines Pte Ltd’s (SPH Magazines) Chief Executive Officer, Mr Loh Yew Seng, was nominated and elected to the Executive Board of The Society of Publishers in Asia (SOPA) for 2008/09 during its annual general meeting last week.
Mr Loh has been holding his current office in SPH Magazines since June 2006. He joined Singapore Press Holdings in July 2001 as Vice-President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for the magazines business group. Mr Loh began his career in 1994 with Arthur Andersen and held notable corporate finance and financial analyst positions in Banque International a Luxembourg, Van der Horst Limited and Visa International. He has been a Chartered Financial Analyst since 1999.
“It is a great honour to join SOPA’s Executive Board,” said Mr Loh. “My appointment is recognition of SPH Magazines’ leading position and achievements in the regional publishing industry, as well as its status as the Publisher of Choice. I look forward to learning from our regional counterparts in the committee and making a positive contribution to the publishing scene in Asia."
