The omy street march – join in the fun!

28 September 2007, Singapore - On 29 September (Saturday), come on down to Orchard Road and witness the omy street march. Thirty models dressed in omy attire will be parading down the street from 2pm to 7pm, as part of the fringe activity for the launch of omy.sg – Singapore’s first bilingual web portal.

Members of the public are invited to take pictures of these omy models and MMS them to 75858. The top five photo entries will win a digital camera each. The number 75858 is omy’s SMS hotline for users to send their news lead or photos to.

Launched on 25 September, omy.sg is the latest news media venture by leading media group Singapore Press Holdings (SPH). The bilingual news and interactive portal, while providing the latest news and infotainment for web-savvy users, also allows them to generate news content by becoming citizen journalists.

Ms Lee Kuan Fung, the interactive editor of omy, says, "We hope to increase public involvement with omy.sg through such activities as everyone can be involved in creating the news".

Besides the street march, other promotional activities are:
