Through The Lens - Photo exhibitions by The Straits Times and World Press Photo open on 5 October

Singapore, 1 October 2019 - A heart-wrenching image of a Honduran toddler crying as she and her mother are taken into custody by US border officials in Texas, USA; a photo series documenting the largest migrant caravan of some 7,000 people leaving San Pedro Sula, Honduras; and an angry protester in Hong Kong smashing the glass pane of a government building during a violent pro-democracy demonstration on 1 July, 2019.

These provocative and compelling images which captured two big news developments of journalistic importance in 2018 and 2019 connect the world to important issues and are among some 250 images and 45 videos which will be featured in Through The Lens, a showcase of two photo exhibitions presented by The Straits Times.
