Distinguished Chinese Language Teachers Awards 2019 calls for nominations

Singapore, 21 March 2019 - The Distinguished Chinese Language Teachers Awards 2019, endorsed by the Ministry of Education, will open for nominations from 21 March till 19April 2019.

The Distinguished Chinese Language Teachers Awards 2019, back for the 22nd year, is organised by Lianhe Zaobao and ZBSchools.sg. The event is co-organised by Singapore Centre for Chinese Language, The Society of Chinese Education Singapore, Singapore Chinese Teachers’ Union and Singapore Middle School Chinese Teachers’ Association, and sponsored by Lee Foundation.

The objective of the Awards is to give due recognition to deserving Chinese language teachers who have shown exemplary effort towards the teaching of the Chinese language and culture. The Awards also reward teachers who have been cultivating students’ interest in the Chinese language and culture through creative teaching or co-curricular activities, and developing an appreciation for the Chinese language and culture in students.

All Chinese language teachers from primary schools, secondary schools, pre-university and junior colleges are eligible (except for past winners) for nomination. All winners will each receive a cash prize of $1,500 and a trophy.

Students, parents, school principals and teachers are encouraged to nominate outstanding Chinese language teachers for the Awards. Nomination can be done online atwww.gevme.com/chineseteachersawards2019.

The nomination must be accompanied with a short write-up (in either Chinese or English) of at least 150 words/characters about the nominee’s contributions in 2018. The nominee’s passion for teaching and the ability to command respect from students, parents and fellow teachers are also important prerequisites.

2019年全国杰出华文教师奖开始接受提名

 

新加坡,2019年3月21日——由联合早报和早报校园联办的第22全国杰出华文教师奖从即日起开始接受提名。

全国杰出华文教师奖(前称全国模范华文教师奖)旨在肯定及褒奖华文教师一年来对中华语文教学所作出的贡献。所有在职的中小学、高中或初级学院的华文教师都有资格被提名(曾得奖的教师除外)。获奖教师各可获得奖金1500元和奖杯一座。

2019年全国杰出华文教师奖由新加坡华文教研中心、新加坡华文教育学会、新加坡华文教师总会、新加坡中学华文教师会协办,并获得李氏基金赞助及教育部支持。

提名者可以登陆www.gevme.com/chineseteachersawards2019直接在网上进行提名。提名者须以华文或英文(至少150字,以500字为限)具体说明获提名的教师在2018年里如何通过创新教学法或学习活动提高教学效益,激发学生对中华语文与文化的兴趣。此外,还可说明所提名的教师如何关怀学生,以及为何受到学生、家长和同事们的爱戴。
