Jobseekers flocked to first day of STJobs Career & Learning Fair

Singapore, 16 March 2019 The doors to Singapore's largest bi-annual job fair opened at 10am, with two halls of exhibitors and professionals, ready to receive the enthusiastic crowd. Jobseekers and fresh graduates streamed through the doors, eager to meet with the various premium employers and experienced training providers. 

Ms Grace, 43, a homemaker, said: "Coming here today was a very valuable experience as it gave me the opportunity to explore what the available career options are in the market, especially for people who have not been working for some time."

The fair is a brainchild of ST Jobs, is held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre, Hall 405 & 406, this weekend from 10am to 6pm.

Running in its 8th year, 2019's first edition boasts more than 60 exhibitors, all made up of brand name employers and professional training providers.

Some special highlights taking place at the fair are the free tarot card reading provided by Lifepath Collective Pte Ltd, the release of the Career Guide 2019, and the Resume Corner brought by Centre for Career Excellence. Fairgoers can expect to take home a lot of insights and learning points, especially from the tarot card reading and Resume Corner.

At the open talk area, the first day of the STJobs Career & Learning Fair March 2019 drew a expectant crowd for all its talk sessions. Topics ranged from workplace competencies, to building of meaningful and professional relationships, key leadership skills and even on how to adapt to changes in the workplace for career success. The ST Jobs Career & Learning Fair March 2019 ends on 17 March 2019.

Mr Chua, 62, a semi-retiree, said: "The open talk session was beneficial and enlightening for me, as it allowed me to understand how to better position myself in an interview, and what practices to adopt when looking for a job."

Visitors must be at least 16 years and above.

Open to Singaporeans and Permanent Residents on 17 March 2019.

Open to Public on 17 March 2019, 2pm onwards.

Admission is free.
