Singapore, 10 December 2018 - Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) invited 160 beneficiaries and caregivers to the SPH-Boys' Brigade Share-A-Gift year-end party today.
These beneficiaries and caregivers are from Care Community Services Society (CARE Hut), Singapore Children's Society (Research & Outreach Centre), Marymount Centre - Good Shepherd Place and Life Community Services Society - Mighty Kids, Families and Community.
The lunchtime party at SPH News Centre Auditorium was organised in conjunction with Boys' Brigade Share-A-Gift Project which SPH has supported for the 13th consecutive year.
This year, about 300 wishes from eight charities were adopted and fulfilled by the management and staff, with the total value of the contributions amounting to about $20,000.
About 40 SPH staff volunteers engaged the children by playing games, treating them to a buffet lunch, and distributing adopted gifts to them.
The Boys' Brigade Share-a-Gift project is a national community service project organised annually by The Boys' Brigade in Singapore, and is supported by the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF).
Ms Chin Soo Fang, Head of Corporate Communications & CSR, said: “We have been supporting this worthy cause for more than a decade. It's the tireless enthusiasm and active participation of our colleagues, as well as the heartfelt gratitude of the different beneficiaries, that keep us going year after year. This is a fulfilling way to celebrate the festive season and round up a year of active corporate citizenry for us."
This event is an SPH Cares Project by SPH Corporate Communications & CSR Division and the SPH Staff Volunteers Club in collaboration with the Boys' Brigade.
