SINGAPORE, 5 June 2017 – AsiaOne, Singapore Press Holdings’ (SPH) news and lifestyle content site (, has recently been relaunched with a fresh injection of new colours, logo and content mix with stories readers talk about and share.

AsiaOne aims to serve a different space under SPH's digital footprint. With an infusion of yellow in their new design, the award-winning site now focuses on social news and trending topics that are being discussed in Singapore, Malaysia and the region.

The website, which has been around since 1995, delivers stories that people want to talk about and share on social media. The AsiaOne editorial team curates the best social stories from the region, using analytics and social listening tools to showcase compelling stories daily.

Besides content curation, AsiaOne will continue to create popular lifestyle content and award-winning features, with an emphasis on well-curated, comprehensive story packages from local and foreign sources.

As the primary content aggregator for SPH’s publications, AsiaOne will continue to feature stories from The Straits Times, The New Paper, The Business Times and Stomp, while also syndicating content from SPH’s stable of magazines, such as HerWorld, Home & Décor, Shape and so on.

Beyond delivering a different content mix, AsiaOne aims to provide bite-sized info that is easy to read and more digestible for a social audience. Innovation and experimentation are key pillars to the website and are harnessed to serve content that truly matters to the readers.

Analytics and tools are used by the team to surface trending content we know people are reading and clicking on. The new Trending section on AsiaOne highlights a mixture of the most talked about or most read stories in Singapore and beyond. Spotlight features editorial picks or some lifestyle content, and the News & Buzz section picks up headlines across SPH publications according to your reading behaviour and pattern. There is also a Videos You Should Watch section, where our own video team curates the top videos from the region.

Editor at AsiaOne, Ms Karen Lim, said the new AsiaOne is a fresh take on what readers traditionally know as news.

“The way we approach news is going to be different from the usual current affairs news breaks throughout the day.

“We know readers can get their news alerts from other local and international sources. Therefore, we are now focusing our efforts on news that matter to our readers – what they’re really reading, talking about or sharing on social media.

“We believe this new way of approaching news will resonate with our readers much more and increase engagement too.”

Award-winning editorial features

AsiaOne will continue to play on its strength in delivering compelling features and stories.

AsiaOne also recently won the 2017 Communicator Award in Excellence for its feature “How a cruise ship prepares 15,000 meals a day out at sea”, which is a testament to the type of comprehensive coverage the team is capable of, ranging from visual storytelling elements such as infographics and videos to complement the article and enhance reader experience.

Your Daily Good Stuff contests and promotions

With the new site, AsiaOne has launched an integrated marketing campaign “Your Daily Good stuff”, which aims to communicate to readers that they can get their daily dose of trending content in Asia.

Through social listening capabilities in the newsroom, and partnerships with over 50 content partners, the publisher is able to provide content that informs readers on what their peers are reading and talking about in the region, as well as curated content from trusted sources.

The campaign will be running across SPH media on print, digital, radio and out-of- home. The campaign also calls for user-generated content on social media as well, in light with the AsiaOne’s positioning of being a social news site.

AsiaOne will be running an Instagram contest with the hashtag #yourdailygoodstuff. Users can upload photos on Instagram of what they deem are good stuff to them. This can be good eats, their favourite quote of the day, special moments or beautiful things.

New advertising opportunities

Besides digital advertising spaces, the new AsiaOne offers flexibility in customising campaigns for advertisers. With its new website format, AsiaOne is able to open special sections to target a specific brand message, while tapping onto the editorial team’s strength in content creation and curation.

AsiaOne is aiming to go beyond traditional ad banner buys and targeting a more customised solution for advertisers and marketers, working in close consultation with its editorial team.

AsiaOne specialises in commercial content for the travel, health, food and home verticals. Notable examples include Home Works, Ask the Expert and Travel Planner. The team offers clients bespoke solutions and the flexibility to customise content formats across the AsiaOne site.
