SPH’s Chinese Media Group launches Readers Club

Singapore, 31 May 2017 --- Singapore Press Holdings’ (SPH) Chinese Media Group (CMG) is launching its Readers Club (华文媒体集团读者俱乐部)at the Singapore Book Fair today to reward loyal subscribers of SPH’s three Chinese newspapers for their unwavering support through the years.

Subscribers of Lianhe Zaobao, Lianhe Wanbao and Shin Min Daily News can download the SPH Rewards App to access discounts and privileges from partner merchants and advertisers of the three papers. Each newspaper will have its own unique e-card in the SPH Rewards App.

Ms Lee Huay Leng, Head of CMG, said, “The CMG Readers Club aims to provide a platform for subscribers, journalists and merchants to interact and increase engagement through specially tailored events and showcases.”

“Going forward, we plan to set up various themed clubs and interest groups to cater to the diverse interests of the audience across CMG print, digital and radio platforms,” added Ms Lee.

Besides rewarding subscribers through the rewards app, subscribers can access the latest slew of rewards by partner merchants and events organised by CMG.

Launching the CMG Readers Club today is Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth Mr Baey Yam Keng.

To encourage subscribers to download and use the app, a lucky draw is rolled out with a grand prize of a Royal Caribbean cruise for two in a junior suite room on board the Mariner of the Seas, with a value of $2758. Other lucky draw prizes include 5 Motorola Moto Z handphones with a value of $899 each and 15 sets of Moto X-Force handphones valued at $599 each.

Some of the rewards that subscribers can look forward to include discounts and promotions from famous local brands such as Sakae Sushi, Jean Yip, Hong Thai Travels, Ministry of Food restaurants, Gain City and Singapore Flyer.  

Apart from the CMG Readers Club, CMG has also launched ZShop (, its e-commerce platform where users can purchase books and merchandise, as well as register for events organised by CMG.

SPH REIT comprises Paragon, a premier upscale retail mall and medical suite/office property in Orchard Road and The Clementi Mall, a mid-market suburban mall in the centre of Clementi town.

The Seletar Mall, located in Sengkang, is SPH's latest retail development. This property is a potential asset to be injected into SPH REIT. SPH’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.

Events and Exhibitions
