SPH Gift of Music presents Let\'s Do Latin! Sunday, 11 June 2006, 6pm. Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage, Singapore Botanic Gardens

Free Admission

Singapore, 6 June 2006 - It’s going to get hotter this June when the SPH Gift of Music series presents Let´s Do Latin! at the Botanic Gardens´ Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage on Sunday, 11 June at 6pm.

Whether you are learning the Salsa, or a regular fixture at Salsa clubs, or are simply in love with the rhythmic Latin American and World music, this year´s Latin concert is not to be missed! If last year´s Latin concert, which saw an over-whelming 6,000 strong crowd pack the Botanic Gardens, is anything to go by, this year´s Let´s Do Latin! concert will again be a sure crowd-pleaser with many in the audience moving to the beat.

This one-hour concert will feature the 12-member band “FJD La Banda”, which comprises musicians from Cuba, Colombia, Mexico and Asia including Singapore’s leading percussionist Bobby Singh. Lead vocalist Perla of Colombia, one of the top Latin singers in her country, who has performed at every major Latin music festival, will charm you with her energetic performance. Together, the band will perform a repertoire of Latin music ranging from Latin pop, salsa, the merengue and the cha cha.

So bring your picnic mat, fill your picnic basket with good food and wine, dress comfortably and get ready to dance the evening away!
