SPH websites ranked top by advertisers and marketers

Singapore, 21 December 2016 – Singapore Press Holdings’ (SPH) websites are the preferred choices of advertisers and marketers when planning their digital media campaigns, according to the recent Digital Media of the Year survey by trade magazine Marketing.

900 industry professionals participated in this survey, including decision makers and director-level marketers who were well represented. Almost 73 per cent of client-advertiser respondents were manager-level decision makers and above with 47 per cent from the most senior ranks. Advertisers from major banks, FMCG companies, property and construction, IT and telecommunications firms, as well as travel and tourism companies were polled.

Websites of SPH and its wholly-owned subsidiary SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (SPH Magazines) did well in the survey. In particular, SPH and SPH Magazines’ websites ranked top in the Local Business & Finance, Local News and Current Affairs, Women, Motor Vehicles and Parenting categories. They were also the favourites in the Men and Luxury categories.

SPH’s financial daily The Business Times’ website (www.businesstimes.com.sg) was ranked advertisers’ most preferred website in the Local Business & Finance category for the second consecutive year.

SPH dominated the Local News and Current Affairs category with The Straits Times’ website (www.straitstimes.com) in first place and AsiaOne (www.asiaone.com) in third place.

SPH Magazines' herworldPLUS (www.herworldplus.com) and Cleo (www.cleo.com.sg) were advertisers' preferred websites in the Women's category, coming in first and third respectively. Young Parents (www.youngparents.com.sg) came in first in the Parenting category. Men’s Health (www.menshealth.com.sg) and The Peak (www.thepeakmagazine.com.sg) came in second in the Men and Luxury categories respectively.

In the Motor Vehicles category, sgCarMart (www.sgcarmart.com) came in first while print magazine Torque’s website (www.torque.com.sg) by SPH Magazines was the runner-up.

SPH Magazines, SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, publishes and produces more than 100 magazine titles and has various online sites, like 
hardwarezone.comherworldplus.com and luxuryinsider.com in Singapore and the region, covering a broad range of interests from lifestyle to information technology. It has also invested in digital newsstand Magzter.

SPH also provides out-of-home (OOH) advertising options where it manages large format digital screens and static billboards at key locations in the Central Business District, Orchard Road, City Fringe as well as major heartland hubs.

SPH Buzz is a modern retail convenience chain with a network of stores around the island.

SPH has a 20 per cent stake in MediaCorp TV Holdings Pte Ltd, which operates free-to-air channels 5, 8 and U, and a 40 per cent stake in MediaCorp Press Limited, which publishes the free newspaper, Today.


Properties

SPH REIT is a Singapore-based REIT established to invest in a portfolio of income-producing real estate primarily for retail purposes. SPH REIT comprises Paragon, a premier upscale retail mall and medical suite/office property in Orchard Road and The Clementi Mall, a mid-market suburban mall in the centre of Clementi town.

The Seletar Mall, located in Sengkang, is SPH's latest retail development. This property is a potential asset to be injected into SPH REIT. SPH’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
