Singapore, 28 October 2016 – Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore hosted the final runway showdown of the Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Award 2016 last evening. Eight designers from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand battled it out for the top spot at the runway show, which took place at the National Gallery, Supreme Court Terrace, as part of Singapore Fashion Week. After the eight finalists showcased their collections to about 500 guests, William Utama from Indonesia was crowned the regional winner of the Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Award 2016. William Utama walked away with a scholarship for a master’s degree in Fashion and Luxury Brand Management at the prestigious Istituto Marangoni, and a $20,000 cash sponsorship from Harper’s BAZAAR Singapore in collaboration with Swarovski.As the regional sponsor for the award, Swarovski will also be offering $20,000 worth of products to the regional winner of Harper’s BAZAAR Asia NewGen Fashion Award 2016.
