SPH iink Awards 2016 puts winners' names in lights

Singapore, 10 May 2016 - Winners of the SPH iink Awards 2016 will be recognised for the roles they play in championing the ideas that result in their award-winning campaigns. They will be profiled in full page full colour advertisements following their win.

Unlike in past years where the focus has always been on the creative work, this year's event, chaired by Mr Geoff Tan, SPH's Head of Strategic Marketing, is all about celebrating the winners and to make each and every award-winning practitioner more than just a face in the crowd.

Mr Tan said: "The creative and communication industry is made up of a multitude of talented professionals without whom there wouldn't be any cutting-edge ideas. Our focus this year is to applaud and accord credit to the folks behind these ideas - the art director and copywriter team who comes up with that brilliant concept, the media strategist who takes the extra effort to put together an outstanding creative media buy, the bold and astute client that dares to go where no others have treaded.  We want to celebrate their greatness!"

The first phase of SPH iink Awards 2016 Call-For-Entries Campaign broke in The Straits Times and Business Times on 21 April reminding advertising industry pundits that they do not have to be just another face in the crowd - they can have their names in lights. For the first time, the campaign included an augmented reality tool where the public can, via the SPH AR app, get to know SPH iink Award's previous winners and also the who's who of the advertising fraternity.

The second phase of the campaign, which breaks on May 10, communicates the tangible benefits of how winners of the SPH iink Awards can have their names, literally, in lights.

The spotlight and finale for the SPH iink Awards 2016 will be held in mid-july where this year's winners will be crowned. Creative and media advertising practitioners can commence their path to glory by submitting their entries at www.sphiinkawards.com.sg
