Singapore, 16 February 2016 – HWM, Singapore’s leading tech magazine and HardwareZone.com, Singapore’s No.1 online technology portal, today announced the winners of the HWM+HardwareZone.com Tech Awards 2016 at the industry’s most prestigious consumer electronics and technology awards event.
In its seventh year running, 40 Readers’ Choice, 33 Editor’s Choice and four (4) Innovation awards were presented in honour of the industry’s top brands, the year’s most exceptional products and its greatest innovations.
ASUS emerged the biggest winner of the day, with a total haul of eight awards – three Editor’s Choice and five Readers’ Choice. Other top notable winners included Apple and Samsung, each bagging a total of seven and six awards respectively.
Tech Awards 2016 also marked the inclusion of video games merit categories for the first time, presented in collaboration with GameAxis.com. In addition to the Best Gaming Console Brand category introduced last year, a Best Gaming Publisher category was available for public voting among this year’s Readers’ Choice brand nominees.
Four new video games categories were also considered for Editor’s Choice awards: Best PC Game, Best Console Game, Best Online Game and Game of the Year.
The inaugural winner for the Readers’ Choice Best Gaming Publisher is Activision Blizzard, while the Editor’s Choice Game of the Year went to Bloodborne.
