Introducing Female GP 2015: The best dressed edition

– more fashion-forward than ever

Singapore, 16 November 2015 – Into its 19th year, Female’s annual flagship event, Female GP (Gorgeous People) continues to shine the spotlight on those with IT factor and social influence, with a twist. This year, Female GP will further highlight the magazine’s focus on fashion. 

Introducing Female GP: The Best Dressed Edition, will highlight Singapore’s savviest dressers. The open call on Instagram garnered almost 1,000 entries, from which top 20 candidates, 10 women and 10 men, where singled out. Their backgrounds range from fashion buyer to modern day craftsman.

For the past weeks, the 20 candidates have been posting their OOTDs (outfit of the day) on http://www.femalegp.sg/2015/, where the public can vote for their favourite looks. One male and female winner will be chosen by Female editor Noelle Loh and a panel of judges based on the OOTDs as well as interviews – not to mention their innate sense of style. 

Noelle said: “We're not looking for a specific style of dressing. What we want to discover are people who love fashion and are not afraid to have fun with it. They know how to make clothes and accessories work for their personality and lifestyle, and are comfortable and confident in what they wear. That to us is the definition of best dressed.”

The Preview
Female collaborated with Robinsons to allow the finalists to curate their own looks from its stable of brands. The results appeared in the print and digital editions of the November 2015 issue, while the behind-the-scenes action was shared with the public on the LED screen on the façade of Robinsons The Heeren from Oct 6 to 21

The Party
On Nov 19, the finals party will be held at Rakes, a new club at Chijmes, to celebrate this year’s top 20 contestants. Open to invited guests including industry insiders, Female’s circle of creative tastemakers, the F-collective as well as selected readers, it will see the crowning of the top male and female contestants. Prizes include shopping vouchers from Robinsons, makeup from Nars, products from Adidas and services from Kimage.
