Chotot tops YouTube ads leaderboard in Vietnam

Singapore, 5 November, 2015 - Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH) is pleased to announce that its online classifieds joint venture company in Vietnam, Chotot.vn, has come out on top in the first ever YouTube Ads Leaderboard with its New Year video garnering more than 8.6 million views. Chotot is operated by 701Search Pte Ltd, SPH's joint venture with Norway’s Schibsted Media Group and Norway’s telecommunications group Telenor.
The Leaderboard presents top ten ads that resonated most with viewers, judged on a combination of popularity and promotion. Chotot's brand video "Nam Dep Trai va Dan Xe Khung" (Handsome Nam and the Amazing Bikes) is the last episode of the "Tran Thanh and Nabi go Chotot" series which went extremely viral in Vietnam this year. The video, which attracted more than 8.6 million views, 26,000 interactions and 6,000 shares in social media, depicts how a cute and quirky couple use Chotot every day to fulfill their wishes. It is also the only Vietnamese brand video in the top ten creatives released between last year and this year's Spikes Festival.

Mr Leslie Fong, Director, 701Search, said: "The increasing influence of social media shows clearly that quality content and a good underlying message are
key ingredients to a successful campaign. This reaffirms our commitment towards growing the online classifieds business in Vietnam."
Mr Bryan Teo, General Director, Chotot.vn, said: "As Vietnam is in the top 10 countries watching YouTube globally, building great video content is an effective tactic to communicate  the benefits of online classifieds to the market. Since its launch, our YouTube brand channel has garnered more than 63 million views and the brand engagement go beyond viewership. We will continue to invest in engaging content to reach out to our target audience."
