Manufacturing Solutions Expo 2015 attracted thousands of trade visitors across 18 industry sectors 

Singapore, 4 November 2015 – The 2nd edition of Manufacturing Solutions Expo (MSE) 2015 achieved a resounding success. Close to 3,400 visitors from more than 20 countries visited this productivity platform, which was held from 30 September to 2 October 2015 at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. 

The three-day trade exhibition, jointly organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Limited, was launched by the Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Lee Yi Shyan, Former Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of National Development. More than 75 exhibitors, partners, experts and potential distribution agents from over 100 regional and international brands showcased business solutions across the entire manufacturing value chain - Enterprise System, Industrial Automation (Robotics and Precision Engineering), Environment Management, Supply Chain Management and Consultancy. The leading global and regional brands included Esker Document Solutions, Sage, Tuas Power Supply, e2i, Samsung presented by Print-IQ, ADAP, ADEPT, Binder, Brady, CEI, Canon, Dassault Systemes, Docuware, Hitachi, Ferrotec, FuturMaster, Hiwin, LENZE, Mitsubshi, NTUC Learning Hub, OGP, SAP, Singapore Technologies Dynamics, Stratasys, Transporeon, Unitronics, Videojet, ZEBRA Technologies and many more.

More than 70 per cent of the visitors who visited MSE 2015 were from the Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs). MSE 2015 being one of the successful trade shows garnered support from government agencies and local and regional trade associations, and stakeholders including A*STAR, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), SPRING Singapore, Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA), IPI Singapore, Association of Process Industry (ASPRI), EuroCham, Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), GS1 Singapore, Institution of Engineers Singapore, IPV6 Forum Singapore Chapter, Johor Bahru Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCCI), Singapore Industrial Automation Association (SIAA), Singapore Environment Council, Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), Singapore Productivity Association (SPA), Singapore Institute of Engineering Technologists (SIET), Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) and Waste Management & Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS).

Targeted at manufacturing professionals, policy makers and business owners, the trade exhibition aims to meet the growing needs of manufacturing companies by showcasing the industry’s best ideas, innovative technologies and cost effective solutions to raise productivity within the manufacturing environment whilst remaining competitive in a complex business landscape.

Rethink business productivity, redefine business innovations in manufacturing through MSE knowledged-based activities

1. SMEs opted for free one-to-one advisory on Government grants
An overwhelming number of visitors approached the SME Centre @ SMF’s booth to enquire about the various government assistance schemes. The One-to-One Advisory platform has given SME companies the opportunity to understand and equip them with the necessary knowledge to operate their businesses more efficiently. With support from the government, companies are able to enhance their business capabilities in the various stages of business growth. 

2. The 1st edition of additive manufacturing and robotics showcase
The inaugural showcase presented 16 cutting-edge technologies and robots on 3D printing mechanics, industrial and service robots which attracted the interests from visitors to learn more about how the initiatives could increase workplace productivity, profitability and reduce time in production.

3. Innovative elucidations through emerging solutions showcase
The two Centres of Innovations at Nanyang Polytechnic and Ngee Ann Polytechnic presented on the critical support for SMEs to work alongside with the Centres to empower their journeys towards business growth and transformation.

4. Overwhelmed attendance at the 2nd edition of technology talks
More than 30 industry leaders presented industry insights, latest cutting-edge solutions and best practices over the three-day sessions, which were attended by close to 1,000 visitors.  

Transform businesses with understanding of industry standards and innovations

The Manufacturing Standards eXchange is a full-day seminar attended by close to 200 delegates. The seminar focused on standardisation initiatives under the Singapore Standardisation Programme. MSC develops, promotes and facilitates the use of Singapore and International Standards in enhancing economic competitiveness of the Manufacturing industry. An interactive Industry dialogue session was conducted to gather feedback and concerns from each industry group.

The interactive half-day workshop - Understanding Cleaning Products: Regulatory, Quality, Safety and Sustainability Simplified attracted close to 40 delegates, including representatives from the National Environment Agency (NEA) and news platform Chemical Watch. Participants have gained useful insights on risk management, as well as the regional and global regulatory landscape of the cleaning and material protection industry segment.

Mr Lam Joon Khoi, Secretary-General of SMF, said that companies were looking for solutions by moving up the value-chain and shifting into more high-value and knowledge-based activities despite of the challenges faced on rising cost and shortage of skilled workers.

The next edition of the MSE 2016 will be held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre on 12 to 14 October 2016. Premium spaces are now available. Organisations which are keen to exhibit are encouraged to reserve their spaces early.
