Hospitality Investment Conference Philippines 2016

Singapore, 2 November 2015 - Sphere Conferences, the conference arm of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH), today announced that the inaugural Hospitality Investment Conference Philippines (HICP) 2016 will be held from 27 to 28 January 2016 in Manila, Philippines.

The Tourism Secretary, Ramon R. Jimenez of the Department of Tourism (DOT) of the Republic of the Philippines will be delivering the opening keynote address. Sphere Conferences also organised a series of reputable events in the hospitality sector - Myanmar Hospitality & Tourism Conference, Hospitality Investment Conference Indian Ocean and Hospitality Investment Conference Indonesia.

The Philippines is experiencing a hotel boom, with a record number of rooms being added to Manila these two years. Many are expecting this increased supply to give its tourism sector a much needed boost – towards the DOT’s target of 10 million international visitor arrivals in 2016. Set against this optimistic background, the Hospitality Investment Conference Philippines 2016 aims to bring in 200 attendees over the two-day event. This inaugural conference provides a platform that convenes local developers, hotel operators and managers, owners, architects and designers, as well as financiers and investors to discuss the opportunities offered by the growing hospitality and tourism sectors in the Philippines.

The key issues to be discussed at the conference include:

· The Philippines’ hospitality industry overview
· Hospitality sectors in the Philippines
· Branding and marketing
· Development trends and considerations
· Up-and-coming in the Philippines
Mr Chua Wee Phong, Chairman of Sphere Conferences, said: “We are honoured to be the first foreign organiser to be putting together an event focused on the Philippines’ hospitality investment opportunities. The response from the market thus far has been truly encouraging. With engaging and relevant content, I believe Hospitality Investment Conference Philippines 2016 will be the perfect platform for industry leaders to convene, exchange ideas and network.”
