Singapore’s no. 1 women’s magazine Her World does a fashion ‘takeover’ of Orchard Road

Singapore, 14 October 2015 – To wrap up its year-long 55th anniversary celebrations, Her World, Singapore’s No. 1 women’s magazine, is holding its very first Fashion Walk along Singapore’s iconic shopping street – Orchard Road. 

To be held on 24 October 2015, the Her World Fashion Walk hopes to attract more than 1,000 fashion enthusiasts, including staff of SPH Magazines, readers, newsmakers, social-media influencers, celebrities and VIP guests. The 1.8km walk will start from Dhoby Ghaut Green and end at Ion Orchard with a big party hosted by celebrity host Utt, and a two-hour set by DJ Has from W Hotel.   

The Fashion Walk will begin at 4pm. Pit stops along the way will make the route more fun-filled, like a sunscreen zone where hunky male models will give away sunscreen samples, dance crew performances, cheerleading gigs and even a street-fashion runway show. A Fashion Police crew consisting of social-media influencers known as Her World’s Beauty Fashion Friends (BFFs) like Min Poh and Silverkis will be on standby to spot the most creatively dressed participants and reward them with attractive prizes. 

Pearlyn Tham, editor of Her World, said: "We’ve had a busy, fulfilling and exciting 55th birthday year. How could we then not top off our celebrations in style by getting our readers and guests to take over every woman’s favourite shopping street in the Orchard area?”

Tickets are priced at $29 for one person and $49 for two (inclusive of a fashion pack worth more than $80). They are encouraged to customise or DIY their T-shirts.
