$4.38 million print machinery deal inked at printing, packaging, and signage exhibition

Singapore, 29 July 2015 – Mr Aaron Lim, Managing Director of Refine Printing, Mr Herbert Cheong, Chairman of Cyber (Pte) Limited, and Mr Seiji Utsunomiya, General Manger of Ryobi MHI Graphic Technology Ltd, signed a contract today at PrintPack+Sign 2015 (PP+S), confirming Refine Printing’s order of 2 press machines and 8 post-press finishing machines worth a total of $4.38 million.
Mr Lim said: “The purchase of these new high-tech machines will help develop new capabilities in our business. The idea is to take a typical print job out of the box by re-defining print through innovation and applying print methodologies in our products. These new machines will help increase our productivity. For example, the UV feature in our new Ryobi Press will reduce drying time, which will ultimately put the printed goods in the hands of our customers faster. In a competitive landscape like Singapore, time is of essence and I'm sure our new machines will serve us well.”
Undergoing a transitional period, printers are re-aligning their business models, making changes in order to drive their businesses to the next level.
PP+S is Singapore’s printing, packaging and signage business exhibition, organised by BizLink Exhibition Services Pte Ltd, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Limited (SPH). The inaugural edition received overwhelming response from the industry. The show grossed 3,355sqm, 12 per cent larger than the targeted figure.
The outlook for the industry is positive, as it redefines ideas and transforms itself alongside the digital age. The demand for short-run, on-demand work, innovative packaging to enhance shelf appeal and sustainable packaging is driving the industry to evolve and discover its own niche areas.
Several market leaders such as Epson, Konica Minolta, Mimaki, AVS Technology (Roland), RISO, USC Solutions (Mutoh & Hewlett Packard), are utilising PP+S as a launch pad for new technology.
Happening from 29 to 31 July at Level 1, Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, visitors can walk the show floor to discover the latest technologies, watch live machine demonstrations, and attend informative seminars on printed electronics, print management applications, and packaging design conducted by experienced presenters.
