Her World celebrates its 55th birthday with special birthday edition

Singapore, 1 July 2015 - Her World, the No.1 women’s magazine in Singapore, celebrates its 55th birthday in July with a special birthday edition and a year-long series of celebrations.

This is why for our 55th birthday issue, we decided to find out more about what the modern millennial Singapore woman wants now.”  

The cover girl of Her World’s special 55th birthday edition is Singapore celebrity (and July birthday girl) Stefanie Sun who, like the magazine does, has lots to celebrate, with her many awards and accolades.

Inside the magazine, enjoy the specially curated stories and spreads that have been in the planning since a year ago. For instance, it took the Her World team almost a year to find, collate, interview, photograph and film 55 millennials – young women aged from 20 to 34 – with inspiring and interesting jobs. After all, theirs is a generation which wants it all - in their own ways. The line-up includes a frog farmer, an SAF pilot, a Penang noodle hawker, Youtube stars, a stand-up comic, online store founders, entrepreneurs and even medal-winning national netball team members. Readers can also watch videos of 10 of them at work on the Her World digital edition. 

Since last year, Her World has been polling more than 2,000 millennials in Singapore for its landmark survey on what they want now, when it comes to money, careers, love, travel and sex. The results of this large-scale survey can be found in the July issue. Some findings show that 88 per cent of the respondents do not consider themselves workaholics, while 64 per cent of them want their potential husbands to be family-oriented, like-minded and financially stable.

To celebrate with its readers, the Her World editorial team curated more than $70,000 worth of luxe gifts including business class air tickets, staycations on Sentosa and at The Fullerton Hotel, yacht cruises, designer sunglasses and bags, artisanal jewellery and high-end skincare and makeup sets.

Her World goes to town too

On 26 February this year, Her World kick-started our anniversary year with Her World Gives Back session at Ion Orchard where 345 copies of  March issue were sold and raised more than $2,000 for the Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations (SCWO). On the same day, its signature Her World Beauty Awards event was held as well.  Her World also launched its first pop-up bar where four cocktails were specially customised for its readers over a weekend. 

Coming soon on July 9, 16, 22 and 30, Her World will be holding a series of Floating Bars where readers and members of Her World Beauty Club can pick up night photography and beauty tips from the experts while they enjoy the gorgeous night scenery and delicious cocktails on a boat. 

In October, Her World will also be launching the Bare for Hope Boob Wall at Paragon to raise awareness of breast cancer as well as Her World Fashion Walk which will take place along Orchard Road.
