Singapore, 27 April 2015 - UW, the weekly entertainment, lifestyle and social news magazine published by media group Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), has launched a Chinese travel title called UW Travel & Leisure today.
Put together by the same editorial team behind the best-selling UW, UW Travel & Leisure is a travel magazine offering the latest travel news and hottest travel spots in the world.
Some of the interesting destinations highlighted in the magazine include:
Maldives - The spotlight is on Amilla Fushi resort and Maalifushi by COMO resort, two of the newly-opened luxury resorts in the Maldives.
Kyoto, Japan - Focus on the lesser known attractions in Kyoto such as old streets and architecture, as well as unique shops owned by local designers.
Kaohsiung, Taiwan - A look at the arts and culture scene in Kaohsiung. Visitors can now enjoy the artistic ambience of the city, visit refurbished old houses and shop for creative crafts and other artworks by their local designers.
Bangkok, Thailand - Featuring a unique accommodation called Inn A Day, a four-storey building located beside the Mekong River in Bangkok, offering travellers a serene and scenic view away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Apart from overseas destinations, UW Travel & Leisure also features local attractions such as the historical Chinatown. In the past year, international hotel chains, famous chefs and top designers have established their presence in Chinatown, transforming this heritage district into a hip and trendy spot. There is also a feature on cafe-hopping at Haji Lane, covering over 10 cafes, including their food, decor and some interesting stories about how these cafes are started by budding entrepreneurs.
Local TV celebrity Pornsak, who has been to at least 40 countries for his numerous travel programmes, shared travel tips, as well as the do's and dont's when travelling to different countries. He also talked about his most unforgettable trips and travel experiences.
