Singapore, 5 March 2015 – "See The Big Picture", a campaign organised by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) in celebration of its 30th anniversary in 2014, tonight won Silver and Bronze awards at the PR Awards 2015 held at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore. The brand campaign featuring autistic savant Stephen Wiltshire, who drew Singapore's skyline from memory, clinched Silver for Best PR Idea and Bronze for Most Creative PR Stunt.
The PR Awards is the premier event celebrating excellence across the public relations spectrum in Southeast Asia. From one-off stunts to long term programmes, the PR Awards recognise brands that have pushed themselves towards measurable success, through sound and strategic communications. The Best PR Idea recognises the most creative, innovative and effective concept used in a PR campaign. The winning entry is determined by its strong research process and evolution of an original idea, and the implementation of this idea into an effective media and PR strategy which delivered measurable results. The Most Creative PR Stunt recognises the most innovative PR stunt designed to attract its target audiences’ attention. There should be clear demonstration of creative content and execution that drove the brand’s core business objective and awareness.
The “See the Big Picture” campaign was one of the key events organised by SPH and Germs Digital to celebrate SPH's 30th anniversary. The live drawing by Stephen Wiltshire at Paragon attracted over 150,000 visitors in five days in July last year. SPH also invited special needs and underprivileged children to meet and interact with Mr Wiltshire. The 4m X 1m Singapore panorama was presented to President Tony Tan Keng Yam last September, as SPH's gift to the nation for Singapore's 50th birthday. It is now on display at URA’s Singapore City Gallery. As part of its active corporate citizenry, SPH has given merchandising rights of the artwork to Pathlight School. Pathlight, the first autism-focused school in Singapore that offers a unique blend of mainstream academic curriculum and life readiness skills, has produced exclusive prints and unique merchandise adapted from the artwork. All net proceeds of the sales will go to Autism Resource Centre, in aid of people with autism. For enquiries, please email: firstname.lastname@example.org .
