Singapore, 11 February 2015 --- Lianhe Zaobao, the Chinese flagship newspaper of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), launches 6 informative WeChat channels today to provide readers with breaking news and lifestyle information.
The WeChat channels will provide social media users with a brand new platform to access Lianhe Zaobao's editorial content. WeChat is a mobile text and voice messaging communication service developed by Tencent in China.
The 6 channels are: "ZBOLife"（狮城一站式）, "ZBOTravel"（玩转新加坡）, "ZBOEducation"（优学新加坡）, "ZBOFood"（狮城美食美刻）, "ZBOFun"（狮城娱乐汇） and "ZBOFinance"（财智新加坡）.
Each of the 6 channels will broadcast a message to readers every day, alerting them to access 4 to 8 news articles with photos in each message.
These 6 channels are different from Lianhe Zaobao's current official WeChat channel "Zaobao Online（联合早报网）". The new channels offer more lifestyle content, adopting a lively and casual tone which make mobile news easier and more fun to read.
"ZBOLife" covers macro issues such as property policies, updates on transportation, as well as micro topics like daily life hacks and routines. It is a one-stop platform for answers to everyday life questions.
"ZBOTravel" focuses on travel content, such as Singapore's top attractions, local culture and customs, overseas travel guides and information.
"ZBOEducation" provides readers with information about Singapore's education industry, introduction to schools, career prospects of academic courses and employment trends. It also offers overseas readers with a useful guide on studying in Singapore.
"ZBOFood" is a must-visit channel for gourmets and foodies. Apart from information about local and foreign food cultures from Chinese, Western to Japanese cuisines, it also carries food reviews of restaurants and eateries. The food connoisseur will find this channel useful as it also acts as a food map to Singapore's best delicacies.
"ZBOFun" reports the latest development about Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China's entertainment industries. It also has other lifestyle content such as horoscope predictions, tarot readings, Feng Shui analysis and jokes.
"ZBOFinance" is a channel for the working professional, offering news and information on investment, financial planning and economy trends, as well as science and technology related articles.
