Singapore, 23 September 2014 - Manufacturing Solution Expo (MSE) 2014 jointly organised by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) and Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings, presents innovation-led solutions to help increase businesses’ productivity, shifting from labour-intensive activities to high-end manufacturing.
According to UOB Asian Enterprise Survey 2014 released recently, rising costs and shortage of skilled workers are top concerns among Singapore businesses. To overcome these hurdles, businesses should look for innovation-led solutions that can help to increase their productivity.
The inaugural manufacturing trade show is a one-stop platform for companies to adopt the industry’s best and most innovative solutions, consultancy and up-grading courses. They are categorised into six unique segments, reflecting the various stages in the manufacturing value chain: enterprise system, resources management, industrial automation, transport and logistics, packaging and storage, as well as consultancy and upgrading solutions. It also helps companies to be kept abreast of the emerging trends in the manufacturing industry, such as Internet of Things (IoT), 3D printing, and robotics.
The three-day trade show, from 8 to 10 October, covers a total area of 6000 square metres with more than 100 exhibiting brands, noteworthy brands include ABB, Advantech, Cantier, Datamax-O'Neil, IBM, Konica Minolta, SAP, Stratasys and Videojet. They will be connecting with some 3,000 local and overseas visitors.
With October being the National Productivity Month, MSE 2014 is part of SMF's efforts at supporting the national initiative to drive productivity across industrial sectors. The trade show will be opened by Guest of Honour, Mr S. Iswaran, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister, Ministry of Trade and Industry, on 8 October at Suntec Convention Centre, Halls 401 – 403.
Co-located with the MSE 2014 is the Singapore Innovation and Productivity Conference (SIPC) 2014, organised by Singapore Innovation and Productivity Institute (SiPi), a Centre of Excellence under SMF. The conference will be releasing two national research benchmarking studies on productivity and business model innovation.
