Fans can look forward to new games as well as celebrity gamers and cosplayers
Singapore, December 6 2012 – Licence2Play 2012, Asia's coolest gaming event, will be held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre Hall E over three days from December 7 to 9, 11am to 9pm daily. Spanning more than 3,000 square metres, the exhibition hall will be filled with a range of games and products by key exhibitors including renowned industry players such as Blizzard, Asiasoft, Wargaming and Namco Bandai.
Licence2Play will showcase the latest in consumer games over different platforms, including a wide variety of online, console and casual games for visitors to try their hands on. From the manyfantastic games to a host of exciting competitions across a broad spectrum of genres, Licence2Play is the place to be for all who love games.
Launch of new games by Asiasoft and Shanda Games
On December 7 at 11am, Licence2Play 2012 will send waves throughout the gaming community as it will be the exclusive event location where Asiasoft will unveil one of their most anticipated blockbuster free-to-play massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) ever.
At Licence2Play, Shanda Games will also showcase an unreleased Massively Multiplayer Online Third-Person Shooter (MMO TPS). Avatar Star is an online action game that features three unique classes: the Assassin, Guardian and Gunner. Players will be thrilled by the seemingly limitless customisable combinations. Slated to launch only in the second quarter of 2013, Shanda Games will offer a preview of the Alpha Stage of the game at Licence2Play. Visitors who sign up during the event will be guaranteed a CBT key when the game is made available.
Blizzard Entertainment will excite the crowd with its best-selling games – World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Diablo III, StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and its upcoming expansion, StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm. One of the world's best female players of StarCraft II is Korean professional gamer Kim Ga Young, also known as Startale Aphrodite. She will be on-site to play against any opponent on her game of choice, and dish out some tips and tricks on how to improve in the game. There will also be a photo-taking and autograph session for fans. Visitors will also get to try out Blizzard's new upcoming expansion for StarCraft II. All participants of the game trial will receive a starter edition of the game, as well as game posters and stickers.
Some of the other popular games which will be featured at Licence2Play include SuperStar Liveby IAH Games and World Of Tanksby Wargaming, a team-based massively multiplayer online action game which has captivated gamers all over Southeast Asia. Fans will be thrilled to learn that Wargaming will also present a special preview of their new game, World of Planes. Wargaming's Vice-President for Global Public Relations, Mr Mike Belton, and Mr Jasper Nicolas, General Manager for SouthEast Asia, will share with visitors Wargaming's plans and upcoming titles for 2013.
Competitions and Cosplay
Presenting Sponsor StarHub will be holding the Counter-Strike Global Offensive (CS:GO) Tournament for the second year running and the DOTA 2 Competition @ Licence2Play , while Digital Life will organise the King of Shooters. Fans of table and arcade gaming can look forward to the Cardfight! Vanguard Tournament and Streetfighter tournament.
Besides gaming competitions, there will also be CosGames, an annual East versus West game characters cosplay showdown. Fans of cosplay will get to meet two celebrity cosplayers - Asahi Martha and Ginga Ion - at the Panasonic booth.
