Members of the public can start voting for their favourite products, brands and services from 27 categories. The number of categories has expanded from 24 last year in response to new reader habits, such as the increasing usage of tablets and mirrorless cameras.

The Best Local University category will now include new entrants such as the Singapore Institute of Management University (SIM University) and the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

Other popular categories like Best Beauty BrandsBest Private SchoolBest Hotel and Best Travel Agency remain. They continue to provide a comprehensive overview of what AsiaOne readers prefer to use and engage in. They also highlight brands, products and services which have made a difference to readers' lives.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards, award winners of brands and products who have garnered accolades for at least three out of five years will be recognised in the AsisOne People’s Choice Awards Hall of Fame, which will be unveiled at the event.

Adrian Tay, Editor of AsiaOne, said: "Into its fifth year, the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards 2013 continues to be very well-received. Our readers and advertisers view the awards as a mark of excellence for their favourite brands and products.

“Clinching the top spots in the various categories is no mean feat. It is even more remarkable that we have some brands and products that continue to achieve the number one spot year after year. The Hall of Fame Awards are therefore meant to give them special recognition.”

Organised by AsiaOne, Singapore Press Holdings' leading news and lifestyle web portal, the People's Choice Awards is a testament to the popularity of the nominated brand names and products among AsiaOne's audience, which comprises largely professionals, managers and executives.

Members of the public can vote in one or more categories for the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards 2013 from now till early January 2013. Voters stand a chance to win up to $1,000 worth of shopping and dining vouchers.

The final results, which will be based entirely on readers' votes, will be revealed at a red-carpet presentation ceremony to be held in the first quarter of 2013.
