Fourth annual Tech awards showcases more products with quality, innovation and performance

  The annual Tech Awards is back to honour the groundbreaking tech products that were launched earlier this year, ranging from hardware to services in computer, consumer electronics, communication and digital entertainment categories. 

As with previous years, Tech Awards 2013 will be given out in two categories – the 
Editor's Choice Awards and the Readers’ Choice Awards

The Readers’ Choice Awards will be given to product brands and services with the highest number of public votes. Voting is now open at, and voters stand to win attractive prizes including the Grand Prize  an Ingersoll watch worth more than $700.

This year, the number of Readers’ Choice categories has increased to 41 from 37 in order to include a wider variety of product categories. The increase was made to reflect the evolution of product offerings in the market as well as to stay up to date with the current technology trends. 

For example, fibre broadband service has been included as a new major category this year due to the ramped up deployment of the optical network infrastructure by OpenNet and consequently a much higher uptake of fibre broadband services in Singapore households and businesses. Other new categories for the coveted Readers’ Choice Awards include mobile broadband service to reflect the much higher use of internet services on the move, solid state drives that improve system performance by a great degree and more audio peripheral categories like in-ear earphones and wireless speakers that complement our multimedia-centric lifestyle.

The voting period for the Readers’ Choice selection is from 1 November till 30 November 2012. The results will be revealed at the Tech Awards 2013 event to be held in the first quarter of next year.

For the Editor's Choice Awards, the editors and tech writers behind and HWM will be choosing the winners based on products with outstanding features, performance and value from stringent lab testing.
