Kiss92 brings lucky listener to paradise

Singapore, 1 November 2012 – It was paradise found for one lucky listener after SPH UnionWorks’ Kiss92 concluded its month long radio contest offering a private island escape to the Philippines.

Ms. Magdalene Tan, 41, won the private island escape with her animated entry on Philippines being a hidden gem with its colourful culture, delectable cuisine, unspoiled beaches and friendly Filipinos. It will be an exciting escape worth $10,000 for Magdalene and her family as they will be enjoying five days of an all-inclusive getaway at Sumilon Island, a short ferry ride away from Cebu.

Said Ms Tan, a physiotherapist and fan of Kiss92 since the station started: “I love beach getaways and I’m so excited to be given this opportunity to make my first trip to the Philippines! I’m looking forward to lazing around on the beautiful beaches and snorkelling in the clear waters.”

Close to 400 entries were received from Kiss92’s listeners as they longed for pristine white beaches, clear blue skies and waters at the exclusive Sumilon Bluewater Resort, a 24-hectare coral island located on the south-eastern tip of Cebu. For the month of October, listeners logged on to and shared why it is more fun in the Philippines in order to qualify for the draw.

The private island escape was part of Philippines Department of Tourism’s efforts to promote its new marketing campaign, ‘It’s More Fun in the Philippines’. Top destinations such as Boracay, Cebu and Bohol, make up Philippines’ 7,107 picturesque islands.

Mr. Charles Leong, Marketing Director, Philippines Department of Tourism in Singapore, said: ”Philippines is Asia’s hidden gem, and is located only a few hours away from Singapore with multiple direct flights. With its beautiful beaches, enriching culture, stunning nature and array of shopping and dining options, the Philippines is an exciting destination that offers an all encompassing holiday appealing to the ladies.”

Kiss92 is Singapore’s first radio station targeting modern, savvy and driven women aged between 30 – 50 years old. The station provides informative female skewed content and attractive prizes, with travel being one of the top favourites for Kiss92’s listeners.
