Singapore, 21 October 2012 – Shape Yoga by the Sea 2012, Singapore’s first women-only mass yoga workout, concluded successfully this morning at Dalbergia Green, East Coast Park. It is the third instalment of a series of women-only outdoor mass yoga event organised by Shape Singapore, a magazine published by SPH Magazines Pte Ltd.
In 2011, the inaugural Shape Yoga in the City was held at Scape. In May 2012, the second edition of Shape Yoga in the City was held at Dhoby Ghaut Green.
The 75-minute workout was led by Pure Yoga instructors, who brought the participants through a series of invigorating stretches and poses. Participants also enjoyed an unobstructed view of the coastline at sunrise.
Shape Yoga by the Sea is the largest women-only outdoor yoga event in Singapore, with 500 participants. Registration opened on 31 August 2012 and closed on 7 September 2012. An additional 10 yoga passes were given away to listeners as part of Kiss92 radio promotion held between 1 and 5 October 2012 during DJ Jeremy Ratnam’s evening drive show (4pm – 8pm).
At the end of the workout, participants were treated to refreshments and a yoga demonstration by Pure Yoga masters. They also took home a goodie bag worth more than $400 each. Items in the bag include a Reebok yoga mat, Pure Yoga passes, two cups of Yoplait 98% Fat Free Yogurt, Oat Krunch Strawberry & Blackcurrant, Krunch tote bag, Aquarius Isotonic Drink, Origins Make A Difference Plus + Rejuvenating Moisturizer, Naturel Organic Brown Rice, Naturel Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Bio-Home Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Energy & Joint Booster, Two Zespri Green Kiwifruit,Shape Sports Bag, and more.
There were also fringe activities such as product sampling as well as a lucky draw with prizes including Pure Yoga memberships and Origins beauty hampers worth over $6,000.
