Singapore, 6 September 2012 – Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) has been awarded the publication and distribution rights for China Daily Asia Weekly in Singapore. The first issue will be out on Friday, 7 September.
The China Daily Asia Weekly is an English-language 24-page weekly tabloid published every Friday. It is targeted at business owners and senior executives from industries ranging from banking and finance to hotels, properties and luxury brands.
It will feature news, views and analyses from China as well as the region, covering areas such as news, business, personality profiles, lifestyle and commentary. The circulation run in Singapore will be 20,000 copies.
First launched in 2010 in Hong Kong, it is also widely distributed in the region, including Australia, Indonesia, Japan, India, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand and the United Arab Emirates. China Daily Asia Weekly is a publication of China Daily, the leading national English-language daily newspaper of China.
Each copy of the China Daily Asia Weekly is priced at $3 per copy and is available at major bookshops and convenience stores. Complimentary copies are also distributed at selected leading hotels, airlines, airport lounges and tertiary institutions.
In addition to China Daily Asia Weekly, SPH also publishes and distributes other overseas newspaper and magazine titles such as Asahi Shimbun, Financial Times, The International Herald Tribune, Forbes Asia, The Economist and Yazhou Zhoukan.

Subscription charges start at $64 for a 6-month package and $112.50 for a one-year package. Subscribers signing up for the one-year package will receive a book titled "Reflections", which is a compilation of insightful interviews with some of Asia’s illustrious businessmen, thought leaders and scholars. These include Prof Wang Gungwu, Chairman, East Asian Institute Singapore; Mr Amar Babu, Managing Director, Lenovo India and Mr Jeffrey Cheah Fook Ling, Founder and Chairman, Sunway Group, Malaysia.

In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations UFM 100.3 in Mandarin, as well as Kiss 92 and HOT FM91.3 in English.
Events and Out-of-Home Advertising
SPH’s events subsidiary Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading Digital Out-of-Home advertising company.
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt.
