SPH iink Awards Showcase on display at ION Orchard and VivoCity

Readers invited to vote for their favourite advertisement to win this year's Readers Choice Award

Singapore, 1 August 2012 – Twelve advertisements have been shortlisted to win the Readers' Choice Award at this year's SPH iink Awards. Readers can vote for their favourite advertisement from now till 12 August 2012.

SPH iink Awards has been running a Readers' Choice Contest every quarter between September 2011 and June 2012. Each quarter, the three advertisements with the most SMS votes were shortlisted to win the overall Readers' Choice Award.

Readers can now send an SMS and cast their vote for the ad from among the 12 finalists that they think deserves to win the Readers’ Choice Award this year. The Award will be given out at the SPH iink Awards gala celebration on Friday, 17 August 2012. Two lucky voters will stand to win a Samsung Galaxy S III.

Among the finalists are advertisements by top advertisers such as Audi Singapore, UBS AG and Great Eastern Life, as well as government agencies such as the Ministry of Community Development, Youth and Sports, the Air Force Recruitment Centre and the Singapore Police Force.

Besides seeing the ads featured in SPH newspapers, members of the public can now view the 12 finalist-advertisements at the
SPH iink Awards Showcase from now till 5 August at ION Orchard Basement 4 and at VivoCity from 6 to 12 August. Finalists of the other categories of SPH iink Awards 2012 will also be on display for the public to view.

Earlier in May 2012, advertising agencies, advertisers and other advertising-related organisations were invited by SPH to submit their advertisements published in any of SPH’s 18 newspaper titles and other media platforms during the period of 1 June 2011 to 31 May 2012 for this year’s SPH iink Awards. The entry period ended on 11 June 2012.

Formerly known as the SPH Ink Awards, it was renamed the
SPH iink Awards this year – with the additional “i” representing “Integration”. The logo has also been revamped to include the additional “i”.

To recognise creative and effective advertisements in SPH’s whole spectrum of media platforms, three new categories have been introduced in this year’s SPH iink Awards – Digital, Radio and Out-of-Home.

With the newly added awards, the nine categories for this year’s SPH iink Awards are:

Category A: Print Single – English
Category B: Print Campaign – English
Category C: Print Single/Campaign – Chinese
Category D: Print Classified/Recruitment/Notice
Category E: Print Creative Media Buy
Category F: SPH IS ON Campaign
Category G: Digital
Category H: Radio
Category I: Out-of-Home

The SPH iink Awards was originally launched to honour the best print advertisements and the creative people behind them. In 2009, a new category was added to recognise those who embrace creativity not just through print advertisements, but also in other SPH media platforms via integrated campaigns.
