BizLink Exhibition Services and Republic Polytechnic to sign MOU at the Singapore Gifts & Premiums Fair / Stationery&OfficeLink 2012

Singapore, 20 July 2012 – The Singapore Gifts & Premiums Fair 2012 (SGPFair), organised in conjunction with Stationery&OfficeLink 2012 (SOLFair), will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, from 25 to 27 July.

The trade fair will be officially opened on 25 July by Guest-of-Honour Mr Teo Ser Luck, Minister of State for Trade and Industry. It consolidates stationery, premiums and gift suppliers under one roof to be the ultimate one-stop shop for industry players.

This year’s fair will see BizLink Exhibition Services, the organiser of SGPFair / SOLFair and a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings Ltd, ink a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Republic Polytechnic. This will set the framework for a joint collaboration. SGPFair / SOLFair will act as the platform to showcase students’ products to gain industry support for product commercialisation, potentially advancing their business ideas to the next level. This will be the first time that enterprising students are offered the opportunity to commercialise their product designs through a trade exhibition dedicated to gifts, office products and stationery in Singapore.

Chua Wee Phong, Executive Director of BizLink, said: “We want to pay it forward. Supporting these young entrepreneurs and nurturing their ideas is our way of giving back to the community. The students have good ideas and we want to allow them to develop these ideas through collaboration with the industry players.”

Republic Polytechnic’s Principal/ CEO Mr Yeo Li Pheow said: “The MOU with BizLink Exhibition Services will offer RP students the opportunity to showcase their product innovations with the relevant industry partners. This is an encouragement to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship at a young age.”

As Singapore’s leading trade industry of its kind, SGPFair / SOLFair will continue to showcase innovative ideas and products in the increasingly dynamic and complex business environment.

This year’s fair will also feature more seminars related to marketing, branding and corporate gifting by distinguished speakers from diverse backgrounds and industries.

SGPFair / SOLFair 2012 is supported by Promotional Products & Giftware Association, The Singapore Booksellers And Stationers Association, International Enterprise Singapore, and Association of Small & Medium Enterprises.
