SPH Shop & Win - Top prize of a Subaru Impreza to be won via a sports challenge

In conjunction with The Great Singapore Sale

Singapore, June 28, 2012 --- The Singapore Press Holdings Shop & Win (SPH Shop & Win) promotion is an eight week long promotion in conjunction with the Great Singapore Sale, running from May 25 to July 22, 2012. Shoppers who spend a minimum of $30 in a single receipt at participating outlets can SMS their entries and be eligible for 8 weekly draws.

This Sunday, July 1, there will be fun and action at Orchard Central Level 1 from noon to 2.30 pm, as some 700 participants take part in a live sports challenge to win fabulous prizes. They were picked from more than 50,000 entries in the Week 4 draw.

In this 
challenge, participants will attempt to hit “balls” into a Subaru car, through its opened windows. They have a choice of using a badminton racket, a tennis racket, a squash racket or a table tennis bat. All successful participants will be eligible for a lucky draw to win one of 30 prizes. The draw will be conducted in a fun and interesting way, using icons of representing 30 sports.

The top prize is a Subaru Impreza 1.6AT Sedan, worth $76,800 without COE, registration fee, road tax and insurance. Other prizes include a Mitsubishi Electric refrigerator, a Domicil sofa set, a Metz LED TV, Nikon digital cameras, Tecno kitchen appliances and cash.

The main prize sponsor is Subaru / MotorImage Enterprises. The co-sponsors are Nikon, Mitsubishi Electric, Domicil, MasterCard, ASA Holidays, Metz, Owell, Tecno and Golden Watch.

SPH has a 20 per cent stake in MediaCorp TV Holdings Pte Ltd, which operates free-to-air channels 5, 8 and U, and a 40 per cent stake in MediaCorp Press Limited, which publishes the free newspaper, Today. In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations Radio 100.3 in Chinese and 91.3FM in English.

Events and Out-of-Home Advertising
SPH’s events subsidiary Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading Digital Out-of-Home advertising company.

Properties

SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. Its latest retail development, The Clementi Mall, started business operations in 2011. SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, has also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
