SPH launches revamped job site - STJobs

Online classifieds portal ST701 unveiled its new job search site with improved functionality for job seekers

Singapore, 15 June 2012 – Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), the dominant player in print classifieds, is gearing up for the pole position in the online space as well.

It will release its improved offerings to the market in stages, beginning with the revamped job vertical on June 17. Previously known as ST701Jobs, this portal now appears as
STJobs, which allows users to know intuitively what it is all about as well as its Straits Times lineage. Its new domain name is
www.STJobs.sg. It can also be reached via iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones. Coming up next will be a property vertical, followed in rapid succession by a general classified portal and a vertical for vehicles.

Job seekers and recruiters alike will find STJobs a breeze to navigate and use. It promises enhanced features and functionality, all of which are there to provide users with better search results and effective matches. Uploading resumes requires all of one simple step, thanks to the vertical's proprietary "Resume Scan" features.

Since its soft launch in March, STJobs has garnered close to 10 million page views, 1.5 million visitors monthly and more than 35,000 Facebook fans. The latter figure qualifies STJobs as the job site with the largest fan base. Marketing Magazine named it the No. 1 Recruitment Site in the Digital Media of the Year Awards 2011.

Mr Johnson Goh, who heads SPH's Online Classifieds business, said: "Since our soft launch, we have seen a tripling of our site usage and traffic. This heartening result tells us that we are meeting our users' expectations of a truly effective and useful job site. I believe users also know that ST is a brand name they can trust. I am confident our job site will grow from strength to strength."

In 2007, ST701 expanded its scope to include motoring, property and general classifieds. Now, ST701 comprises four verticals, namely: STJobs; ST701 Cars; STProperty; and ST701 Shops. Collectively, the four verticals make up Singapore’s leading online marketplace for classified advertisements.
