Singapore, 25 April 2012 --- The winner of the My Paper Executive 2012 will be crowned on 27 April (Friday) at the grand finals at The Lawn@Marina Bay, located at the heart of the new Marina Bay Financial Centre. The contest, now in its fifth year, is the signature event of My Paper, Singapore Press Holdings' (SPH) bilingual newspaper.
The My Paper Executive 2012 is a competitive search for a young male or female executive aged between 25 to 39 years old, who best epitomises the ideal Singapore urban working executive – smart, stylish, savvy and confident. Besides providing a platform for executives to express themselves, the contest aims to enhance the contestants' profiles in the corporate world.
Registration started in January 2012 and over 500 entries were received. This year’s crop of 16 finalists have varied working backgrounds, ranging from banking and finance to legal and marketing.
As the search was for the definitive urban working executive, the finalists will be judged not on their looks but on their confidence, poise, personality, wit, eloquence, “EQ” (Emotional Quotient) and “OQ” (Office Intelligence Quotient).
The winner of My Paper Executive 2012 will get a $10,000 cash prize, while the second and third prize winners will win $5,000 and $3,000 in cash respectively.
There are five subsidiary awards up for grabs this year – the "GMP Work Life Champ" which is sponsored by The GMP Group, the "Marina Bay Link Mall Most Savvy Personality", the “Redken Most Stylish Look” and the "Make Up Store Best Groomed Executive", while the finalist who receive the highest number of votes from readers of My Paper via an online voting contest on http://executive.mypaper.sg/2012 will be the winner of the “Readers Choice Award”. Three lucky voters who voted for the winner of the "Readers Choice Award" stand to win $500 worth of products and shopping vouchers.
