Singapore Entertainment Awards 2012 goes regional

The awards will be presented to winners in Taiwan for the first time
Singapore, 15 March 2012 – Singapore Entertainment Awards 2012 (新加坡e乐大赏) makes its return for the fourth year. This year, the Awards' regional presence will be even greater as it will be held in Taiwan – the first time the Awards will be presented outside Singapore. 
Organised by Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and fronted by SPH’s leading entertainment media platforms Lianhe Wanbao, Radio 100.3, U-Weekly and, the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2012 (SEA 2012) will honour the best talents and the movers and shakers of the Asian entertainment scene in the past year. 
In February, judging on the "Best" categories was carried out by a panel of respected professionals in the entertainment and media industry in Singapore and the region. Public voting for the “Popular” categories will commence from 15 March. 
A total of 35 awards will be presented this year, across a wide spectrum of categories ranging from music, movies, dramas, radio to concerts. The complete list of Award categories is found in Appendix 1.
The results of the Singapore Entertainment Awards 2012 will be announced in early May 2012. Thereafter, SEA 2012 will honour the winners at the first-ever SEA Media Showcase in Taipei, one of Asia’s most vibrant entertainment cities. Invited winning artistes will be there to receive their trophies and meet the fans.

This year, the Awards will be held in Taiwan for the first time, further establishing itself as a key entertainment event in the region that artistes and fans look forward to each year.”

Voting Information
From 15 March to 19 April 2012, public voting for the 14 "Most Popular" categories can be done online at or via SMS 77877 in this format: sgeawards <space> category + number <space> NRIC <space> name.

SPH's Chinese flagship newspaper Lianhe Zaobao has also launched its digital platforms which include a web application, as well as online and PDF versions.
SPH has a 20 per cent stake in MediaCorp TV Holdings Pte Ltd, which operates free-to-air channels 5, 8 and U, and a 40 per cent stake in MediaCorp Press Limited, which publishes the free newspaper, Today. In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations Radio 100.3 in Chinese and 91.3FM in English.
Events and Out-of-Home Advertising
SPH’s events subsidiary Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading Digital Out-of-Home advertising company.
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. Its latest retail development, The Clementi Mall, started business operations in 2011. SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, has also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
