Holiday Fun at The Kidz Academy 2012

Singapore, 13 March 2012 - More than 90 exhibitors will be showcasing their products and services at The Kidz Academy at Suntec Singapore Halls 401 and 402, from 16 to 18 March 2012. Presented by CIMB Bank and organised by Sphere Exhibits, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), the exhibition is open daily from 11am to 9pm and admission is free. 
 
Into its fourth year, The Kidz Academy is collaborating with the Singapore Sports Council (SSC) for the first time to introduce a new Sports & Wellness zone. Spanning about 6,120 square metres, the Sports & Wellness zone will offer visitors an opportunity to try out activities such as wushu, golf, taekwondo, wall-climbing, Samba dance for kids and other sporting activities. Throughout the three days, SSC will also be organising Sports Try-Outs for kids aged three to 12, who are keen to try out different kinds of sports. 
 
a) Key highlights of the exhibition include:
  • Activity Zones 
    Visitors can also check the other activity zones: Academic, Books & Stationery, and Games & Edu-tainment zones for a variety of enrichment courses, and resource materials.
     
  • PSLE Workshop for Parents
    Scheduled for 2pm to 5pm on Friday, 16 March, this seminar aims to answer parents' queries and to equip them with more information on how to help their children prepare for this important event. The seminar will feature three renowned speakers: Mr Tee Wee Ang from MindChamps Singapore, Ms Esther Lim from Leap SchoolHouse and Mrs Sonia Sng-Leong, a freelance contributor to The Straits Times.

  • Dyslexia screening 
    Dyslexia Association of Singapore (DAS) is offering basic dyslexia screening for children at The Kidz Academy. Special discounts are also available to those who signed up for courses offered by DAS at the exhibition. 
 
b) Activities Not to be Missed
  • Holiday Gifts Galore
    At the TKA Club booth, visitors can also purchase a $10 voucher to have a picture taken and participate in a sure-win instant draw. Items include camcorders, DVD players and hi-fi sets. This promotion is only available on 16 and 17 March, at 11am and 3pm. Limited to 200 giveaways per timeslot. 
     
  • Exciting Stage Activities
    Throughout the three-day exhibition, visitors can look forward to engaging stage programmes such as “The Singing Chef”, a mini cooking musical featuring chef Irene Jansen; skits, dance performances and contests for the whole family. 

    Together with their parents, a group of five and six-year-old preschoolers will also pit against each other in The Kidz Academy Speak Mandarin Kiddies Challenge on 17 March. 
     
  • Parenting Workshop 
    Presented by The Sunday Times, FUNtastic Parenting Workshop offers an opportunity for parents and teachers to learn from renowned experts in the field of child psychology and education, to make learning an enjoyable experience for their children.

            Session B - 1.30pm - 4.30pm

  • Embark on a Quest 
    The first 1,500 visitors can also pick up The Kidz Academy (TKA) Quest Card and stand to win a goodie bag worth more than $80 upon completion of a series of challenges at designated booths. 
     
  • Have an ice-cream, manicure and a picture taken, for free
    The first 2,000 children to visit the exhibition each day will get a free Swensen's mini cup ice-cream. 

    Girls aged five to 12 can also enjoy a quick manicure by Hopscotch Kids from 12pm to 5pm daily. 

    Families can also have a free picture taken which could be used to share with others on Facebook instantly, at the specially created photo booth.
     
  • Grand Lucky Draw
    All visitors who spend a minimum spend of $10 at The Kidz Academy will be eligible to participate in the Grand Lucky Draw and stand to win attractive prizes. The prizes include a 3D2N Bintan Getaway for four, Nintendo Wii, Lenovo tablet, hampers and more. 
 
c) Special Deals for Opening Day, 16 March
  • 1-for-1 Deals
    Selected exhibitors will offer irresistible deals such as 1-for-1 deals and waiver of registration fee, valid only on the first day of the exhibition.  
     
  • Sure-Win Lucky Spin
    The first 1,000 visitors to The Kidz Academy on 16 March will qualify for a Sure-Win Lucky Spin and stand to win prizes worth over $30,000. 
     
  • Starry Friday 
    The first 100 visitors who sign up for courses at The Kidz Academy on 16 March will receive Happy Stars Top-Up Card plus SIM cards worth $17 from StarHub.
 
d) The Little Red Dot Professor Young Professor Challenges
 
The Kidz Academy is also partnering The Straits Times Little Red Dot to present the Little Red Dot Young Professor Challenges which comprises three inter-school competitions. 
- Memory Challenge 
- Math MasteryTM Competition 
- English MasteryTM Competition
