Singapore, 13 August 2011 – ShareInvestor, the financial internet media and technology company and a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), today launched its fifth annual INVEST Fair 2011 at the Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister of State for Finance and for Transport was the Guest of Honour at the opening ceremony this morning.
Centred on the theme “Invest with Knowledge”, the two-day event features 36 exhibitors, which included listed companies, financial institutions and training and education providers. Visitors can also look forward to 48 free and paid seminars where they will hear industry experts speak on the recent global economic developments as well as the latest investment product offerings.
This year’s notable speakers included Mr Robert Miles from the United States, author and a distinguished authority of Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway. He will talk about the investment strategies of Mr Buffett and his investment company. Professor Chan Yan Chong, the MBA Programme Director at the City University of Hong Kong will look at the emergence of a new economic world order and how that impacts retail investors.
Other speakers include investment analysts such as Mr Kevin Scully, Executive Chairman and Founder of NRA Capital Pte Ltd, and Ms Lorraine Tan, the Vice President and Director of Research (Asia) at Standard and Poor’s.
This year’s INVEST Fair 2011 also sees the most number of Malaysian listed companies taking part where visitors can learn more about investing in overseas commercial and residential properties across the Causeway. The eight companies come from industries such as construction and property development.
