Car dealers look forward to good turnout at CATS Classified Car-nival 2011

Singapore, 7 July 2011 - Authorised distributors and parallel importers will offer a slew of promotions to entice buyers at the upcoming CATS Classified Car-nival 2011. Admission is free.

Car sales have taken a severe beating as COE premiums soared in the wake of a dwindling supply of certificates. While a downtrend is not likely in the near future, car dealers participating in this Sunday’s CATS Classified Car-nival 2011 are nonetheless optimistic about achieving a good sales turnout.

Mr Eric Ong, senior manager at Motor Image Enterprises – the authorised distributor for Subaru – said: “This year’s Car-nival will definitely be fun and exciting, packed with great deals at our booths. We are confident that visitors will have a memorable experience while checking out the best promotions on site.”

According to Ms Gladys Lim, Kah Motor’s sales and marketing manager, the company is confident of getting good results at the car fair.

Ms Lim, whose company is the authorised dealer of Honda, said: “In addition to our existing five-year unlimited mileage warranty, we will also be offering a five-year-100,000 km free maintenance package for all our Cat A models and free insurance for all our Cat B models.

Borneo Motors – Toyota’s authorised distributor – will be conducting a lucky draw and offering “rewards” up to $8,000, said Mr Klaus Redomske, the company’s marketing director.

Other dealers are also ready to grab their share of car buyers.

Ms Carine Soh, marketing manager at Renault, said: “We have enjoyed good sales through competitive pricing and a new range of models. However, we are not resting on our laurels just yet. For this Sunday's Car-nival, we will be giving away return air tickets to Paris in the ‘Drive Home a Renault’ promotion, as well as irresistible discounts, to attract more customers.”

Mr Eddie Loo, managing director of CarTimes Automotive, who is prepared to tap on the enthusiastic market for European cars, said: “Many of the models that we'll be fielding for Car-nival are from established European brands like Mercedes, BMW, Audi and others.” Mr Loo emphasised that car prices at the event will be even more competitive than normal showroom rates.

With nearly a hundred booths selling new and pre-owned cars, motoring accessories and equipment, CATS Classified Car-nival 2011 presents a plethora of choices for an expected 60,000 visitors, ranging from car buyers looking for family sedans to motoring enthusiasts scouting for gadgets to spruce up their hot rods. As for car financing, the event’s official bank – Maybank – is present to offer buyers attractive loan packages.

Besides catering to those looking for cars and motoring accessories, there are also plenty of activities for those seeking entertainment and excitement. For the third year, CATS Classified will be running its race queen pageant. Visitors can look forward to a pageant of ladies with svelte figures pacing the catwalk as race-queen contestants. The winning contestant will be crowned Car-nival 2011 Race Queen, and will walk away with a cash prize of $2,000. The pageant is sponsored by Subaru, which is also sponsoring the subsidiary price, “Ms Subaru Curvaceous”.

The Buyers’ Grand Draw, hourly buyers’ lucky draws and a spread of free goodies including ice-cream, popcorn and more will ensure that no visitor walks away empty handed. More information is available in the print ads in SPH newspapers.
