SPH wins at the 2011 Magnum Opus Awards

Singapore, 27 June 2011 – Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) and its subsidiary, SPH Magazines, were awarded multiple accolades at the 2011 Magnum Opus Awards recently.
 
Two of SPH's contract publishing titles, Petir and VOICES, which are published by Focus Publishing Ltd (a subsidiary of SPH), garnered two awards - Honorable Mentions for Best Signed Editorial or Essay (Petir) and Best Feature Article (VOICES). Focus Publishing publishes Petir for the People's Action Party and VOICES for the Central Singapore Community Development Council.
 
SPH Magazines also turned in a magnificent performance by bag200ging a total of four awards, including the Gold Award for Best Overall Editorial (SilverKris) and the Gold Award for Most Improved Design (NSman).
 
The Magnum Opus Awards is organised by ContentWise (properties of McMurry in the U.S., a world-leader itself in content marketing) in conjunction with the Missouri School of Journalism. Professors from the Missouri School of Journalism and leading custom-publishing professionals who specialise in particular content or design areas judged the awards based on a defined set of criteria specific to each of the categories.

In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations Radio 100.3 in Chinese and 91.3FM in English.
 
Events and Outdoor Advertising
SPH’s events subsidiary Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading Digital Out-of-Home advertising company.
 
Properties
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. Its latest retail development, The Clementi Mall, started business operations in 2011. SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, has also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
