Singapore, 24 May 2011 – Licence2Play (L2P) is back this year with more games and fun competitions such as CosGames. Into its third year, L2P is organised by Sphere Exhibits Pte Ltd (Sphere), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings, and presented by Lenovo and powered by Intel.
The three-day event runs from 27 to 29 May, with a host of activities for all ages. These range from mass gaming competitions such as The New Paper Cyber Challenge and The Straits Times IN interschool tournament “GameIN”, to the showcase of the latest game titles and limited edition game merchandise and the first ever East vs West video game characters cosplay competition.
Reflecting the growing game industry in Singapore, the Licence2Play Singapore Pavilion will also feature local game and application developers. Visitors can look forward to workshops and talks on games and apps development.
Mr. Chua Wee Phong, Executive Director, Sphere Exhibits Pte Ltd, said: “Licence2Play is in the 3rd year running, and this year’s event promises to be more exciting as there will be a pure gaming zone. We also have with us new partners such as Sony, who is coming in with a first in South East Asia Multi-Monitor 5-Screen set-up featuring GT5, and Nintendo with its first DOA game on the Nintendo system.”

New Game Launches & Game Title Showcases
Asiasoft and Nintendo will be releasing their latest games titles at L2P. The highly anticipated Dead or Alive: Dimension (for Nintendo 3DS) is the first DOA game to be on the Nintendo system.
Asiasoft will be launching two Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (MMORPG). Players can hunt for treasures in Planet Arkadia, or embark on a mission in the martial art game Xuan Wu Online (玄武 Online).
CiB will be showcasing the latest Dragon of Heaven (天龙八部), the English counterpart to the hugely popular Chinese game, as well as games such as Mission Against Terror (M.A.T). Other games on showcase include Grand Turismo 5, Torque Racing 3D, and Maple SEA – Big Bang.

CosGames: World’s First East vs. West Game Characters Cosplay
CosGames features the world’s first East vs West game characters cosplay show-down! It will be held over the full three days of L2P, with the finals held on the last day as finalists vie for over $3,000 worth of cash prizes and the grand winner prize of a pair of return air-tickets to Japan or Korea.

The Digital Life Android Challenge: Presented by Samsung
To be launched at L2P, the contest challenges participants to develop tablet app and games using the android-based platform. Finalists will have their games featured on Samsung App store for public voting. In conjunction with this Challenge, Samsung will also be holding workshops to help participants on developing Android-based applications and games.

Exclusive movie merchandise and photo opportunity
Bring home collectible movie merchandise like Iron Man 2 and Terminator Salvation Skeleton action figurines. Fans of Green lantern and Transformer 3 can also look forward to having their pictures taken with their favourite movie characters.
Sphere partners with Nestle in promoting healthy gaming by first being healthy. A selection of free cold beverages and confectionery will be served in an open lounge area by cosplaying butlers and maids.
