CATS Recruit teams up with AON Hewitt in search of “Best Employers in Singapore”

CATS Recruit, in its capacity as a media partner, has teamed up with AON Hewitt for the Best Employers in Singapore 2011 study

Singapore, 28 April 2011As reported in The Business Times in the first quarter of this year, companies are convinced of the long-term economic recovery and have stepped up in their recruitment. For the same period, in terms of advertisement volume, Singapore Press Holdings' CATS Recruit reportedly saw an increase of 15% in its Classified Jobs pages and 62% in its Executive Appointments section, as compared to the previous quarter. In the face of a strong economy, organisations have to work even harder to retain and to attract new talents in a tight labour market.

Now in its sixth year and spanning over 11 markets in Asia-Pacific, the Best Employers Study seeks to provide definitive benchmarks and insight into how organisations drive business results through their employees and also enables them to measure the effectiveness of their own people practices. It rigorously assesses and shortlists a select cadre of employers who have managed best in delivering outstanding value through employee engagement for the Best Employers in Singapore 2011 awards. Close to 50 MNCs, SMEs, public and private companies of various industries in Singapore participated in the survey.

Commenced in August 2, 2010, participating companies were assessed by an independent panel of judges which comprised of leading academics and eminent business leaders from renowned organisations like Coca-Cola Singapore Beverages, Changi Airport Group, Insead, Singapore Press Holdings and Human Capital Leadership Institute. Judging criteria included the degree of employee engagement, being able to identify the best drivers of employees’ performance, leadership effectiveness and others. These stringent assessment standards made this study a litmus test which ensures that organisations making the grade are high-performance entities that deliver value through a highly motivated and aligned workforce.

Previous Best Employers included industry-leading organisations like The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore, McDonald’s Restaurants, Federal Express, Singapore Food Industries and other prestigious companies with high brand equity.

On April 29, 2011, in addition to the announcement of the 11 Best Employers, two organisations will also be honoured with the Outstanding Best Employers awards.
