Results of Singapore Entertainment Awards 2011 are out

Singapore, 28 March 2011 --- Results of the Singapore Entertainment Awards (SEA) 2011 are out! Winners in the "Most Popular" categories have been named following the public's voting from 7 February to 21 March this year.

In addition to the "Most Popular" awards, a panel of judges comprising SPH journalists from print, radio and online media, together with local and foreign media industry experts, has picked the winners in the "Best
" categories. The complete list of winners is attached in Appendix 1.

Jointly organised by Singapore Press Holdings' Chinese media including Lianhe Wanbao, Radio 100.3, omy.sg and UW (U-Weekly), SEA 2011 garnered a total of 2.3 million online and sms votes during the voting period as compared to over 400,000 online and sms votes received last year.

Five prestigious awards, namely Outstanding Achievement Award (Movies), Outstanding Achievement Award (Music), Concert of the Year, Outstanding New Generation Artiste of the Year, and Artiste of the Year, will be announced on 2 April at the celebration concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. The winners are also picked by the panel of judges.

Making their appearance at the star-studded event are some of the hottest names in the Singapore and Asian entertainment industry. They include Seven (Korea); Ella of S.H.E, Lollipop F, Alien Huang, Anthony Neely, SIGMA(Taiwan); Kit Chan, Huang Jing Lun, Derrick Hoh, Freshmen (Singapore) and Namcha (Thailand).

In the radio business, SPH has an 80 per cent stake in SPH UnionWorks Pte Ltd, which operates entertainment stations Radio 100.3 in Chinese and 91.3FM in English.

Events and Outdoor Advertising
SPH’s events subsidiary Sphere Exhibits organises innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions. In addition, SPH has ventured into out-of-home (OOH) advertising through its wholly-owned subsidiary, SPH MediaBoxOffice Pte Ltd, Singapore’s leading Digital Out-of-Home advertising company.

Properties
SPH owns and manages Paragon, the prime retail and office complex in the heart of Orchard Road, Singapore's main shopping belt. Its latest retail development, The Clementi Mall, started business operations in 2011. SPH's wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, has also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.
