Singapore, 21 Jan 2011 – The Her World Beauty Awards 2011, organised by SPH Magazines Pte Ltd (“SPH Magazines”), celebrates its 10th anniversary at ION Orchard today.
Started in 2001, the annual Her World Beauty Awards event – the first of its kind held by a magazine in Singapore – recognises the key brands that have influenced beauty and lifestyle trends by continually striving to deliver products of distinction to consumers.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Her World Beauty Awards, a special category, Top 10 Products of the Year, was created. This category honours exceptional products that scored the highest number of readers’ votes.
In total, there are 102 award winners across more than 46 categories this year. Over 520 products, all launched between October 2009 and September 2010, were evaluated according to how they best targeted the concerns and met the needs of customers. These products include the latest face-slimming skincare, wrinkle-smoothing foundations, lash-growing serums and more.
Over 2,000 votes were received from readers – online and through magazine voting forms – to determine the Readers’ Choice winners. Her World’s panel of judges (editors, beauty writers, leading makeup and hair experts, and doctors) were tasked with assessing the Editors’ Choice Awards.
For the first time too, the nomination of the Most Innovative Product award was open to readers as well as the expert panel. Among other factors, the winners were judged on their ability to use trailblazing technology with unsurpassed results.

To commemorate the Awards’ 10th anniversary and to acknowledge the industry’s efforts, we also wanted to recognise the 10 best products as voted by readers."

We were the first magazine to hold an awards ceremony to recognise the best in beauty; we were also the first to let readers vote through an in-book poll.
