Singapore, 29 October 2010 - ZbBz, the monthly bilingual luxury magazine published by Lianhe Zaobao, will be celebrating its first anniversary with an exclusive cocktail event this evening at The Pavilion @ Custom House (next to the Fullerton Bay Hotel).
The event not only marks the first anniversary of the luxury magazine, but also celebrates the magazine's editorial achievements in the past year.
Barely one year after its launch, the magazine has clinched three major awards, namely MPAS Magazine Awards 2010 - Best Chinese Magazine of the Year (Silver), MPAS Magazine Awards 2010 - Luxury Magazine of the Year (Bronze) and Asia Media Awards 2010 - Special Coverage.
Launched in October 2009, ZbBz is a lifestyle magazine which targets the bicultural elites and high net worth individuals. With a circulation of 20,000 copies, ZbBz is distributed every first Friday of the month.
The Pavilion @ Custom House, one of the latest dining destinations in Singapore, sets the tone for the magazine's anniversary celebration with its spectacular panoramic view of the Marina Bay skyline. Free flows of cocktails and mocktails specially concocted by Swedish mixologists, and fine liqueurs including Martell Cordon Bleu and Spanish Acustic wines, await the invited guests
, comprising readers, advertisers and luxury brand owners.
Guests will be served gourmet canapes dished out by the Fullerton Hotel. Chef De Cuisine Mr Douglas Tay of Osia restaurant at Resorts World Singapore, together with Australian celebrity chef Mr Scott Webster, are invited to come up with two culinary creations for the anniversary celebration. Guests will also be treated to top-notch performances by Singapore's jazz veteran Jeremy Monteiro and acappella group Budak Pantai.
As part of the celebration, two acclaimed artists will be unveiling their works which are inspired by ZbBz. Singapore artist and Cultural Medallion recipient Mr Lim Tze Peng created a calligraphy work based on the magazine's Chinese title. Mr Sun Yu-li, a renowned sculptor from China, created a sculpture called Sentiment to commemorate ZbBz's first anniversary. The curves on the sculpture evoke a sense of warmth and tenderness which signifies the relationship between ZbBz and its readers.
Luxury lifestyle brand Jo Malone has also created a new scent specially for ZbBz for the occasion. They have chosen a blend of fragrances including Nectarine Blossom and Honey, as well as Vanilla and Anise, to create this special scent. Cologne vials of the new fragrance will be given to guests as part of their goodie bags.
Dr Ng King Kang, Editorial Consultant of ZbBz, said: "The past one year has been a valuable learning experience for the team, and the publication has opened our horizons. This birthday is the start of more good things to come. The celebration is made more meaningful with the presence of our advertisers, readers and friends of ZbBz."
Apart from its editorial achievements, ZbBz has also moved with the times by providing content for new media users. Starting from 13 November, SingTel users who are using the newly-launched tablet computer Galaxy Tab by Samsung will be able to read ZbBz on the go. SingTel has launched the new De!ite app for Galaxy Tab users to access a wide selection of Singapore's most-read magazines including ZbBz.
