The New Paper (TNP) is Singapore's newest freesheet. It started out as a paid newspaper in 1988, and through the years, has made its mark in the journalism world, winning international prizes from The Society for News Design, The Society of Publishers in Asia, and World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers for excellence in infographics, photojournalism, and reporting. In Dec, 2016, it was revamped and became a free newspaper after merging with My Paper.
The tabloid-sized paper is targeted at young PMEB readers and features a new content mix that focuses on news about the economy, job market, property, personal finance and government policies. Apart from that, it will continue to feature elements that traditional readers of TNP have come to know and love - inspirational and heartwarming stories about people in Singapore, sports, and entertainment.
The paper is available every morning except Sundays and public holidays. It is also available online at www.tnp.sg, and as an app that you can download from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
The New Paper’s annual events such as TNP Big Walk and TNP New Face competition, both of which have become part and parcel of the Singapore scene, will continue after the revamp.
