SPH Red Apple Day 2017 collected 130 units of blood

Singapore, 18 July 2017 – Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), in partnership with the Singapore Red Cross Society, has collected 130 units of blood from 161 donors today at the SPH Red Apple Day, its annual blood donation drive. 

Mr Benjamin William, Secretary General of Singapore Red Cross, said: "We are grateful for Singapore Press Holdings' support to the National Blood Programme. SPH Red Apple Day is into its 17th year and has grown into an iconic blood drive - testament to our successful partnership. An important contributor to Singapore’s blood supply, bloodmobile organisers like SPH play a critical role in increasing awareness of the importance of blood donation, and in making blood donation more accessible to the community. Blood donations help some 30,000 patients every year - we urge all donors to step forward to sa
ve lives."

 

The event at the SPH News Centre auditorium attracted SPH staff, students of Beatty Secondary School and their parents as well as members of the public.  

The SPH Red Apple Day 2017 is is supported by the Singapore Red Cross Society and Beatty Secondary School, and sponsored by Activhealth, Benelux, Gardenia and Vitasoy.

 

The event's media partners are SPHMBO, AsiaOne, BeritaHarian.sg, straitstimes.com, TNP.sg and zaobao.sg, and SPH Radio stations ONE FM 91.3, Kiss92 and UFM100.3.

Properties

SPH REIT is a Singapore-based REIT established to invest in a portfolio of income-producing real estate primarily for retail purposes. SPH REIT comprises Paragon, a premier upscale retail mall and medical suite/office property in Orchard Road and The Clementi Mall, a mid-market suburban mall in the centre of Clementi town.

The Seletar Mall, located in Sengkang, is SPH's latest retail development. This property is a potential asset to be injected into SPH REIT. SPH’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Times Development Pte Ltd, also developed a 43-storey upmarket residential condominium, Sky@eleven, at Thomson Road.

Online Classifieds

SPH’s online classifieds include the leading online marketplace for jobs (STJobs, FastJobs), property (STProperty), cars (STCars) and general classifieds (STClassifieds,Trezo), sgCarMart and StreetSine.

SPH's regional joint venture online classifieds business has a number of leading online classifieds sites in the region.

Events and Exhibitions

Sphere Exhibits, Sphere Conferences, Exhibits Inc and Bizlink Exhibition Services organise innovative consumer and trade events and exhibitions as well as large scale conferences in Singapore and the region. 

Healthcare

SPH owns Orange Valley which operates nursing homes.
